Coinbase recently announced the rebranding of their GDAX platform as Coinbase Pro.
Their blog states Coinbase Pro is an evolution of GDAX which was designed for more advanced cryptocurrency traders. It will offer a simplified deposit and withdraw process, as well as the opportunity to use services such as protocol voting and staking.
The new platform will integrate the Paradex relay platform which will allow customers to trade hundreds of tokens directly from their online wallets. The firm hopes this will allow customers to access additional types of cryptocurrency. The company plans to unveil the platform to users outside the US before offering it to Americans.
Coinbase Pro and GDAX will work alongside each other until June 29. GDAX is currently the seventh largest exchange in terms of 24 hour trade volume. Coinbase hopes to increase this new platform increases the volume.
The company also recently announced the new creation of their investment platform Coinbase Index Fund and Coinbase Index in March. This platform requires a minimum investment of $10,000 and carries a 2% annual management fee. This platform is intended for institutional investors.
